One of the earliest and loveliest spring flowering bulbs, Chionodoxa luciliae (Glory of the Snow) āAlbaā is a bulbous perennial boasting loose one-sided racemes of up to 8 upward-facing, large pure white flowers with a spread measuring approximately 10ā across. Blooming in the early spring (Mar-Apr), āAlbaāsā charming blossoms are borne atop the foliage of 2 - 3 narrow, semi-erect, basal leaves. In the fall (Sept-Dec), plant the bulbs in well-draining soil, under full sun or partial shade. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 2ā while leaving 3ā of space between bulbs. An easy-to-grow variety that naturalizes well once established. āAlbaā is resistant to deer and other critters while also being disease tolerant. Works best planted in sweeping drifts in woodlands, lawns, or under deciduous trees. Also looks great as clusters in rock gardens.
